One to one child counselling

We can offer children the opportunity to talk to a trained and experienced counsellor about the issues raised by parental separation and divorce. This will always be in a confidential setting with each session lasting about 45 minutes, depending on the child’s age.

Our specialist Child Counsellors have many years experience of working with children and are members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists.

The sessions are ‘child centred’ and younger children may choose to use books or games, toys, art materials, to express their feelings. We aim to provide short-term counselling, with children being seen for around 4-6 sessions following the initial meeting.

Family work and 1-1

Our work enables family members, to find each other, and move forward in a way that leaves nobody behind. Our work helps couples and others to navigate the challenges of the family unit. In shared and in family relationships, communication is so important to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in the relationships.

We will work with individuals and the whole family unit to facilitate communication and to improve relations between all members.

We would normally work with a family for up to six sessions at 3-4 weeks intervals. Our qualified family therapist provides our family work.
